Bagda Chingri Curry is a spicy shrimp curry popular in coastal Bangladesh. The succulent black tiger shrimp absorbs the flavors of mustard oil, garlic, and fresh green chilies, resulting in a deliciously spicy dish perfect for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients:
- 6–8 Bagda Chingri (black tiger shrimp)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Clean shrimp and marinate with salt and turmeric for 10 minutes.
- Heat mustard oil until hot, then add sliced onions.
- Add garlic, ginger, and chili powder. Fry until oil separates.
- Add shrimp and stir-fry for 5–6 minutes.
- Add ½ cup of warm water and cook covered for 10 minutes.
- Serve with plain rice or paratha.
